Heart Health is a critical mission of the Alpha Phi Foundation and the Denver Alumnae of Alpha Phi is here to provide you with resources, information, and events from the American Heart Association (AHA) to help you tackle heart disease.
Support Go Red For Women as we participate in AHA’s National Wear Red Day® on Friday, February 7, 2020. Dust off that Red Dress Gala attire, put your pin on, and make a point to tell a family member, friend, or colleague about heart disease.
Why Go Red? Cardiovascular disease in the U.S. kill approximately one woman every 80 seconds. The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Go Red For Women advocates for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health. Click here to learn more about the Go Red For Women initiative presented by the AHA.
Through the annual Heart to Heart Grant, Alpha Phi Foundation helps fund research and educational programs that support the improvement of women’s heart health. The Heart to Heart Grant awards a $100,000 annually to medical professionals to better understand heart disease in women—specifically its symptoms, treatment, and prevention.
